Chatpata Aloo Recipe Ingredients
500 gm small whole potatoes
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp asafoetida
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp onion seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
1 1/2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric
2 tsp amchur
1/4 cup yoghurt
Chatpata Aloo Recipe Procedure
Dry
roast and powder together the coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel
seeds, onion seeds, mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds. Put aside.
Wash
the potatoes and prick them with a fork. Place in a deep dish with 1
tsp salt and 1 cup of water (just enough to cover). Cook covered at HI
for 7 minutes, till cooked through.
Mix the oil, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and the asafoetida. Cook covered at Hi for 2 minutes.
Mix in the powdered spices, chilli powder, turmeric, amchur
and the yoghurt with the potatoes, coating them well. Cover and cook at
Hi for 10 minutes, stirring once. Serve hot or cold, with a meal or as
a snack.
